Marina del Pilar reaffirms work for Baja California together with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador

The governor of Baja California held a meeting with the president to address issues related to the wellbeing of the state

The governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, met with the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, to speak about several different issues and projects to promote the development and wellbeing of the state, especially to benefit the most vulnerable communities as dictated by the principles of the Fourth Transformation.

After this meeting that took place in Mexico City, where several governors of the Fourth Transformation and presidential cabinet members participated, Governor Marina del Pilar highlighted the permanent support that president López Obrador has had towards Baja Californian families. This is because he has provided a historic boost to hospital infrastructure and has kicked off high impact projects such as the construction of the Otay II port of entry and the elevated viaduct that will connect International Abelardo L. Rodríguez Airport with Playas de Tijuana.

The governor underscored that President López Obrador has been the president that has been the most aware of the state of Baja California in all of its history, always putting the needs of people who need prioritized assistance first. This is why an aid framework, which has united the efforts of the Secretariat of Wellbeing of Mexico and of Baja California, has been rolled out in order to achieve universal aid for people with disabilities.

Economic aid frameworks have also been complemented for seniors, as the Baja Californian Government has delivered aid to people between ages 60 and 64 and 11 months, while the Government of Mexico has been addressing the needs of those who are 65 years of age or older.

"President López Obrador has been the greatest ally of Baja California and all of its needs. This is why we reaffirm our commitment to continue working with the premise that "For the Good of Everyone, Poor People Come First" which is one of the main principles of the Fourth Transformation and of the public policies of our country," Marina del Pilar pointed out.
