Xolos Fidel Martinez is called-up to the Ecuadorian National Team

The Tijuana Xolos forward is slowly earning a spot in the World Cup

TIJUANA - Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles forward Fidel Martinez was named to the Ecuadorian National Team. Ecuador will face Australia next Wednesday March 5th in London as part of their preparations for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

Martinez is one of the 21 Ecuadorian players that will travel to the U.K. It is worth mentioning that Martinez already has a commercial with a popular energy drink and is becoming the marketing face of the team.

Other Liga MX players joining Fidel with Ecuador are: Walter Ayovi and Edner Valencia of Pachuca, as well as Jefferson Montero of Morelia. Unfortunately Fidel Martinezs Xolos teammate will not be able to be called up due to an injury.
