More than 100 new COVID-19 cases were registered in Baja California

Only 54 of these new cases were reported in Mexicali

During the daily transmission of the COVID-19 cases update, the Secretary of Health of Baja California, Alonso Perez Rico, informed that the state continues to rise, reporting until the cut-off date of October 22nd, 112 new cases of coronavirus with PCR of which 54 were registered in Mexicali.

This municipality also maintains the highest number of active cases, with 228 of the 468 located in the region, following Tijuana with 116 of this total.

In the case of people who have tested positive in the entity, there are already 21 thousand 393, remaining in the top 3: Mexicali with 9 thousand 636, Tijuana with 6 thousand 930 and Ensenada with 2 thousand 820.

Unfortunately, 3 thousand 761 Baja Californians have lost their lives due to this disease, registering six new deaths, three in Mexicali and three in Tijuana, reporting a total of one thousand 636 and one thousand 558 deaths respectively.

When asked about the doctors who have died from COVID-19 in Baja California, Perez Rico said that nine were doctors, twelve were nurses and twenty were health care workers, among all the institutions.

We recall that today is the Day of the Doctor, who at least in the region has achieved that to date 14 thousand 920 patients have recovered from the current coronavirus.
