During the weekend, Tijuana authorities were forced to close three established businesses and apply 18 fines for not complying with sanitary protocols that aim to prevent chains of transmission.

According to Adolfo García Dworak, head of Municipal Inspection and Verification, among the businesses that closed were an OXXO convenience store at the Hipódromo neighborhood and two taco stores at the Otay Centenario and Centro branches because they exceeded the permitted amount of people.

According to information from the official website of the City of Tijuana, the 18 fines were for eight swap meets, nine for street vendors and two for established businesses. Among the areas where most of these were located were Buenos Aires Sur, El Dorado and Villa Residencial del Bosque.

Also, this weekend 129 bars and restaurants were inspected: the number of people inside the facilities was monitored, the established schedules were respected and they had the required measures and precautions.
