“Pacific Train” project is revived: it will be the longest in Mexico linking Los Cabos, Tijuana & Chiapas

This Pacific Train project will connect Tijuana and Chiapas

Can you imagine a train that connects the entire Pacific? To travel from Tijuana to Los Cabos to even Chiapas? This could become a reality thanks to representative Miguel Torruco Garza who has once again resumed the project to build these railways.

Since May, Torruco has pushed his initiative:

Mexico has a very strong economic potential. This proposal will create the legal foundations so that passenger trains return to Mexico. Our proposal is to update, modernize, and make passenger trains return so that Mexicans can travel through our nation.

On Tuesday, August 23 the passenger train initiative was proposed in the plenary of the Chamber of Deputies. According to Torruco, it will create several benefits such as updating and modernizing the railways system, serving millions of travelers, and boosting the economic development and wellbeing of Mexicans.

In total, he has proposed that Mexico has 11 passenger trains:

-El Chepe
-Occidental Train
-Oriental Train
-Transversal Train
-Pacific Train
-Bajío Train
-Central Train
-Oaxaca Train
-Maya Train
-Isthmus Train
-Gulf Train

The longest one will be the Pacific Train that will connect Tijuana, Cabo San Lucas, Nogales, and Chiapas, traversing a total of 5,300 kilometers. The shortest one will be the Isthmus Train that would travel 300 kilometers from Salina Cruz to Villahermosa.
