Ideal cities to visit in California in winter season

Winter is finally here and with it here they come the low temperatures and the Christmas decorations. December is just four days away and though many of us decide to spend the holidays in our homes, others decide to take family trips.

Stacker made a list of “The 50 Cozy Towns to Visit This Winter”. Among these, California managed to get three spots on this ranking with its incredible ideal areas for this season. Here are the places that were included:

Mammoth Lakes, California

This mountain town is ranked #20 on this list. Considered a winter wonderland by many, it gets more than 30 feet of snow every winter. It has a gondola in the mountain that begins at 8,900 feet and climbs to 11,000 feet. Here you will be able to find a neighboring village with restaurants, shops, and nightlife, making it an ideal place to visit.

Big Bear Lake, California

This is a place that is very well known by a lot of people, as it is one of the favorite snowy destinations of California tourists and residents to visit during winter season. Here you can do several different activities such as zip-lining or going to the Big Bear Alpine Zoo. It has thousands of tracks to walk through[b] and its population of bald eagles is impressive. Big Bear was ranked #28 on this list.

Solvang, California

This town was ranked #44 on this list. It is inspired by Danish culture and will make you feel as if you were on the other side of the world in the middle of winter season. Julefest is celebrated here on December 3rd and there is even “A Cowboy Christmas”. It has several nearby inns ideal for you to stay at and enjoy its beautiful views during the last days of winter.
