9 Events in Tijuana This Weekend

"Day of the Dead" celebrations, concerts and more

TIJUANA.- November is barely starting and there are still some events celebrating the "Day of the Dead," tradition, although there are many other concerts and awesome festivals on the way, more than enough for you to try new things, explore and learn in this border city.

Here's the events list we make for you every week, check it out.

Friday Nov. 4

1.- Ruben Albarran NO DJ SET

Ruben is the leading singer of "Cafe Tacvba", one of the most acclaimed bands of Mexico. Albarran's making a show with a different musical approach, one that will blend music of artists such as David Bowie and Nu. A very personal performance with the mission of showing his fans another side of him.

2.- Vintage Market

If you love shopping then this market will fit you better than Cinderella's shoe. Vintage clothing, accessories, books, decor and more are some of the things you can scavenge into and maybe find the exact item for you.

Saturday Nov. 5

3.- "El Jolgorio de las Almas" (The Revelry of the Souls) Festival

This multicultural festival comes in three stages: "The Procession", "The Offering" and "The Arguende" (Gossip, Party). The mission of this event is to gather "Tijuanenses" to enjoy a meeting with their beloved ones who have passed on.

At the end of that, a great party is going to mix dancing, music, theater plays, exhibitions and children workshops for you to have a great time.

4.- Fusionarte 2016

This flee market will have local artists expressing their ideas regarding the life in this border city through their work in different artistic disciplines, such as music, culinary arts, painting, photography, handcrafts, drawing, and others. The event will start Nov. 5 and end Nov. 6.

Some of the bands that will play are Nosis, Wayhome, Rabbit Fever, Varela and Los Cuatro Veintes.

5.- Maluma

You must've heard of this guy that's making a lot of girls go crazy around the world, well, now he's going to perform at Estadio Gasmart this Nov. 5

6.- Expo Taboo

For the first time an event like this will answer a lot of questions on diverse matters: Exotic traditions, Phobias, urban culture, culinary arts and more.

7.- "Day of the Dead" Festival

Altars, Yumanas traditions, folkloric dance, and other artistic performances will give this festival a fun and colorful touch.

8.- Reggae & Ska Vol. 6

9.- Day of the Dead 4th Festival with Immigrants

Day of the Dead Altars, poetry and calaveritas by Gabriela Sanchez and Lissana Sinatra, music by Adriana Spring, a Short Film presentation, hot chocolate and pan de muertos are going to be part of this event, which will pay homage to the deceased immigrants who died trying to cross the border.
