The beer movement in Mexicali continues big, and with the consolidation of Hornet Brewery, it is more way more attractive with its different winning styles in several local Mexicali taps.
Jesús Alberto Celaya is the head of this brewery, which in a short time has managed to conquer the taps and palates of the Cachanillas. The kitchen runs under Everardo Guillén, who has tamed his kitchen and has been advised by cachanillas brewer masters - such as Carlos Martínez of Brew Capital – He has achieved a good balance in his recipes and maintained a level of quality in each plate.
With just 2 years in the business, Hornet Brewery has several styles such as the IPA Network, its Porter style, the Hazy Pale Ale and its Sour style; which they distribute in several points of sale, for now only in Mexicali.
Hornet Brewery entered the score board of the winners with some medals obtained in the Cerveza México 2019, where they were awarded the gold medal for their Jesús de Veracrú porter style, and a silver medal for Gose, in the category of fruits and spices.
Those medals motivated these brewers, who now await the results of the Copa Baja 2019, the Baja Californian beer contest that will reveal the winning styles this coming weekend during the MXLI Beer Fest 2019 in Mexicali; right there they will have barrels of their winning styles to offer the public.
There is no doubt that Mexicali is home of excellent craft beer and Hornet Brewery is an example of this. As if that were not enough, the young brewery serves as an example for the new generations that, with effort and strong discipline, it is possible to start a craft beer business in Baja California.
