Toll road fee goes up in Baja

Federal Roads and Bridges announced the change this week

Thousands of drivers traveling through the Playas de Tijuana–Ensenada freeway noticed a price change in toll booths.

Last Wednesday Federal Roads and Bridges of Mexico (Capufe, in spanish) announced a slight fee increase in all Mexican highways.

Starting from August 29, the cost of the Ensenada-La Mision, Rosarito-La Misión y Rosarito-Tijuana highways will be 30 pesos (around $2.30 dollars). The La Misión-Corredor 2000 highway will be 25 pesos (around $1.92 dollars).

Previously their cost was 31, 28 and 28 pesos, respectively. The Ensenada-La Mision booth decreased its fee by one peso while the other two raise theirs by two, around a 7 per cent increase.

On their part, La Rumorosa-Tecate is now 60 pesos($4.60), while El Hongo-Tecate and La Rumorosa-El Hongo are now 30 ($2.30).

This weekend reports a big automobile turnout due to the Labor Day long weekend in the US.
