Goodbye lines! San Ysidro Port of Entry is working on program to preregister border crossings

This pilot program will begin soon

A few days ago, the San Ysidro Chamber of Commerce revealed that a program was being considered so that border crossings between Tijuana and San Diego went by quicker and more efficiently, since this helps the megaregion’s economy.

As such, today the following was explained: both CBP and the Chamber of Commerce are working on a pilot program that will decrease waiting times for the border crossings between Tijuana and San Ysidro.

“We are proud to announce a new pilot program for pre-registered crossings at San Ysidro,” they said in an official statement where they also stated that the community will be able to participate in this pilot program.

“If you are a frequent pedestrian crosser with SENTRI/ GLOBAL ENTRY and would like to participate in the pilot program, CONTACT US ASAP at jwells@sanysidrochamber.org.” This preregistration period will be open until tomorrow August 26, 2022.

It should be noted that no more information has been revealed about these “preregistered crossings”, but what cannot be denied is that it has created great expectations among the general public.
